TVN Agency and Associated Press announce content distribution agreement

TVN Agency in Poland and The Associated Press have agreed to share video archives as part of a content distribution agreement. For the global sales collaboration, TVN Agency, department of commercial Polish television network, and AP Archive, the commercial video footage arm of AP, will promote each other’s content, starting in the first quarter of 2011.

“Cooperation with the AP is the finest confirmation of our role and quality of services offered on the Polish news distribution market,” Tomasz Nabakowski, TVN Agency CEO, said. “The cooperation is possible thanks to the high quality of content and services we provide and our flexible approach towards clients’ needs”.

AP Archive has material dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. With an archive of over 700,000 stories, it is rich in its coverage of events, war and conflict, politics, disasters, environment, culture, social history, human interest, science, entertainment and sport. The collection is updated daily with the global news coverage of AP Television News and contains footage from many major content providers.

Alwyn Lindsey, AP's director of international archives, said: “Poland is a really exciting market for our content and we believe that TVN is exceptionally well positioned to grow our sales there. Equally, TVN's archive is very impressive and we look forward to exposing it to a global audience”.

Archived video footage from the two media organizations will be made available on the TVN Agency website at www.agency.tvn.pl and on the AP Archive website at www.aparchive.com.

TVN Agency will market AP’s video archive to customers in Poland while AP will market TVN’s content in the global market outside of Poland.
