The Associated Press seeks an enterprising, flexible and digitally savvy reporter with a proven track record of developing sources and breaking stories. Based in New Delhi, this reporter will be responsible for coverage of India and South Asia, and would help with wider Asia-Pacific coverage. Responsibilities: Reporting to the news director for South Asia, this reporter will work closely with AP colleagues throughout the region to consistently break news, ensure the speedy filing of urgent spot developments, experiment with new digital storytelling forms and support the Asia team’s efforts to produce must-read explanatory journalism and distinctive enterprise. This includes primary responsibility for coverage of India, as well as supporting coverage of South Asia. You will also be a key member of the wider Asia-Pacific regional reporting team, strengthening AP’s reporting efforts throughout the region and beyond. In this role, you will primarily be a text reporter but will also be comfortable working in multiple media formats, with the ability to shoot video and photos, and verify and acquire UGC. The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to work any shift, including at night and on weekends, or as coverage demands, as AP is a 24/7 operation. |
